COR Element 13 deals with Ontario Legislation
As an employer and supervisor, you will need to know about all legal requirements that are applicable to your construction activities. All construction activities, employees and equipment must be in-compliance with the act and its applicable regulations. Some of the most important legislation that your organization will need to understand and implement into its work activities include the following (this is not an exhaustive list):

R.R.O. 1990, REGULATION 834 CRITICAL INJURY — DEFINED
O. Reg. 490/09: DESIGNATED SUBSTANCES
R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 860: WORKPLACE HAZARDOUS MATERIALS INFORMATION SYSTEM (WHMIS)
O. Reg. 278/05: DESIGNATED SUBSTANCE - ASBESTOS ON CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS AND IN BUILDINGS AND REPAIR OPERATIONS
O. Reg. 364/20: RULES FOR AREAS IN STAGE 3
O. Reg. 632/05: CONFINED SPACES
The current COR audit tool verifies that an organization being audited meets the implementation of legal requirements. A COR Auditor will examine and evaluate the following:
Clear demonstration that health and safety legislations (all applicable acts and regulations) are considered during the job planning process.
Copies of relevant legislations are readily available at each workplace as required.
All supervisors are trained on their rights, duties and responsibilities and how to exercise them.
All workers are trained on their rights, duties and responsibilities and how to exercise them.
All legislated workplace posting requirements are met.
Any organization that can provide positive responses to the above is in a good place, and likely on its way to building a compliance workplace safety environment.
